Saw this animation it just inspired me to do the best because if they could achieve their goals, i can too.
It's all a matter of perspective

There's no inspiration in seeing a running horse gallop in front of yours. It's an obstacle, it's the competition being eleven steps ahead when I'm barely out of the starting line.

don't stop

I stopped a while ago, it would be like trying to strike with a paper sword or fire a powderless cannon. There's no ambition, no "spark" anymore. There's no reason or sense. Above all there's no fun or love in trying to do something that's already been done to death. I would "need a bigger boat" to do something that doesn't make me think "Oh, it's just like that other drawing"

@Mazooe
Who said life was a competition?
Who care there's someone better than you?

You wanted proof that you could do it, can't you take the truth? Or maybe LiteralHat and many others have some kind of super hands that automatically transform paper in art with one touch????

Or maybe you dont even want proof? I don't understand, seriously.

Sorry if i got rude, but I really want to wake you up from this mentality. You're hurting yourself.

Art is inherently competitive. If I'm going to be self-critical of course I'll look up to people better than me even more if their styles and ideas are similar to mine. If there's someone better than me, I care, I don't want to be perfect or better than others, but I care about my work being polished enough to be presentable (It isn't) And the works of others is not the proof that I can do it, maybe they can, but I can't. You can watch action films like there's no tomorrow, but you're not going to be Sly, Arnold or Van Damme.

@Mazooe
Serious question : are the drawings that children make, art?

They're in a competition with nobody. They don't even know this guy. They don't even care about their drawing being polished. They draw for themselves.
Isn't it the very definition of "art"?

They are drawings. No more, no less. Just graphic representations of sights and thoughts.

@Mazooe and what is art then? Some pretentious thing, whose value is based on recognition?
Can't drawings be art too? They put their emotions and expressed themselves through their own choice of tools, colors and shapes!

Why specifically do you have no ambition or love for it?

I feel totally burnt out mostly because the character I've been drawing is, and I notice now, an archetype or clichè evryone seems to already have on-the-go while I struggle to draw something more original (Which is why I alternate between drawing and writing) Now whenever I draw it feels like a chore, it feels like I'm doing something that's part of my thought, not my thought itself and it's frustrating.
