I think you are setting unrealistic standards for yourself. You have gained 14 fans in a mere month - in a very crowded market and (probably) without being scouted, yet. By my measure that's pretty good number.
As for 'growing as an artist': If you are looking for advice, you could verbalize what it is you are dissatisfied with over in the art forum.
